Man Linked With Austrian ATM Bombs Arrested In Malta

In the past hours, Maltese police arrested a Macedonian man, who forms part of a group of European criminals, being investigated by Austrian authorities for a series of ATM bombs in Austria.
The investigations by Austrian authorities began last year and identified a total of 48 suspects, with the Office of Prosecution in Vienna issuing an arrest mandate last October.
Early on Tuesday morning an international operation was conducted in various European countries, among them Malta.
A residence in St Paul’s Bay was surrounded in a coordinated police effort by Malta Police Force.
Investigations and shown that one of the suspects, a 29 year old Macedonian man, was identified as living in Malta, leading to his arrest.
The man was taken to court yesterday, so that the extradition process back to Austria begins.
