Man Caught On CCTV Breaking Off Door Knocker In Sliema

A man was caught on CCTV breaking off a door knocker from a Sliema residence’s blue traditional door.

The footage was shared by Sliema mayor John Pillow, who asked anyone who recognises the person or who has any information to contact him.

A police report has been filed, said the mayor. The man can be seen walking up to the door, observing the surroundings and then breaking off the traditional knocker before making off with it.

UPDATE: Man Arrested Says Minister

Minister for Home Affairs Glenn Bedingfield has announced that the man who was caught on CCTV breaking off a door knocker in Tas-Sliema has been arrested.

The man, said the Minister, is being investigated for the alleged robbery and damage done to the residence in the locality. Bedingfield thanked all those who assisted in locating the man, which led to his eventual arrest.

Footage shared to social media by Sliema mayor John Pillow showed the man approaching the residence and breaking off the knocker before moving on.
