Man Breaks Local Record For Voluntarily Cleaning Kilometre Long Canal

The Malta Records yesterday presented a brand new record next to Marsa’s Horse Race Track for the longest canal being cleaned voluntarily with a shovel, broom and scissors.

The record was established by Colin Pace who, in the past few years, began cleaning the canal which measures a kilometre long and 12,350 square metres.

The effort and the record itself go to the memory of Bob the Beagle, who used the help Colin during this voluntary work.

‘A note of appreciation to the Marsa Local Council, led by Mayor Luke Farrugia, which provides Colin with everything he needs. Thanks also to the Clean Malta Cleansing Department, under the remit of the Ministry for Local Government and Public Works led by Hon. Alison Zerafa Civelli, as well as Project Green, which assist with the collection of bags and other materials.’
