Man Arrested Over Stolen Motorbikes In Malta

Police have arrested a 33-year-old Libyan man in connection with the theft of multiple motorcycles across Malta.
Following continuous investigations and surveillance of a criminal network involved in motorcycle thefts, officers observed the suspect riding a stolen bike in the Ħal-Qormi area on Thursday afternoon and took him into custody.
Preliminary inquiries indicate the man may be linked to at least six motorcycle thefts in San Ġiljan, in-Naxxar, and San Pawl il-Baħar, as well as a vehicle theft, stolen electronics from an office in in-Naxxar, and damage to a police vehicle.
He is being held at Floriana Police Lock-Up and is expected to appear in court today at around noon before Magistrate Dr Astrid May Grima.
