Man Arrested After Allegedly Importing €4.5 Million Worth Of Cocaine

A 44 year old man from Bosnia and Herzegovina was arrested in relation to the importation of around 35 kilos of suspected cocaine, with a value of around €4.5 million.
He was stopped by Customs Officials whilst disembarking the Sicily catamaran.
The man was acting suspiciously, and the assistance of the Malta Police Force was requested. He was subsequently arrested and transported along with his vehicle to the Floriana police station garage.
During searches there, 35 kilos in packets of suspected cocaine were found in the middle compartment of the vehicle.
An inquiry has been opened and the man was taken to court today. He plead not guilty to the accusations and was held under arrest.
