Man Accused Of Breaking Car Mirror In Swieqi Denied Bail

Rohit Uniyal, the man who was filmed breaking a vehicle mirror, appeared under arrest and was denied bail.
Uniyal was charged with intentionally damaging an Audi as well as a Yamaha motorcycle in Swieqi.
He was also charged with being intoxicated and disturbing the public peace during the incident.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges, but the court rejected the request for bail.
Swieqi deputy mayor Jordan Galea Pace, who shared the footage, said that he was told by some that he is a different person when not under the influence.
‘Whether that is true or not, alcohol is never an excuse for damaging someone else’s property or disturbing our community.’
‘As Deputy Mayor, together with the Police and our residents, we will leave no stone unturned until Swieqi is a safer, cleaner and more liveable locality for everyone.’
