Maltese Songwriter Gilbert Gauci Reaches New Milestone In Latvia’s Eurovision Selection

Maltese singer-songwriter Gilbert Gauci has taken another exciting step in his international career, this time breaking into the Eurovision world as a co-writer of a song selected for Latvia’s national competition, Supernova.
The track, titled “Oh My My,” will be performed by Latvian artist Agnese Stengrevics and is set for release in early December, ahead of next year’s televised shows.
This milestone follows a growing list of international successes for Gilbert. Over the past two years, his music has been featured multiple times on the long-running CBS series The Young and the Restless, and he recently appeared on Lidl Finland’s annual summer track for the supermarket’s nationwide campaign.
“Oh My My” was born during a songwriting camp that happened to coincide with the Eurovision weekend. Gilbert co-wrote the song alongside producer Jacob and Agnese herself.
After a full day of writing, the group wrapped up the evening by watching Eurovision, an experience that now feels symbolic, given that the song they created that very day is about to compete for a place on the Eurovision stage.
Gilbert shared the news with fans through a short video on his social media channels, expressing his excitement at having his first song enter the Eurovision sphere and praising Agnese as an artist he is genuinely proud to collaborate with.
Speaking to us following the announcement, he said the moment carries deep personal significance.
Growing up, he would watch Malta’s national final and the Eurovision Song Contest every year, so being involved now as a songwriter feels like a personal achievement.
Looking ahead, Gilbert added that he would love to one day have a song competing in Malta’s national selection as well, should the opportunity arise.
