Maltese Sculptor Neal Camilleri’s Work Featured In Wallpaper Magazine*

Maltese-born artist and sculptor Neal Camilleri, who is based in London, has had his work featured in the internationally acclaimed design publication Wallpaper* magazine.
The feature highlights Camilleri’s latest creation, Brassy (2025), a brassy-blue glazed ceramic piece measuring 18x36cm which makes part of his ongoing series “Running Around My Grandma’s House.”
The series captures the essence of childhood wonder, with flowing shapes and playful angles that evoke nostalgia, warmth, and the joy of exploration.
“Brassy is the newest piece in my Running Around My Grandma’s House series,” Camilleri explains. “It captures the sense of childhood wonder. The flowing shapes and playful angles reflect the joy of exploring and the warmth of family memories.”
Born in Mgarr, Malta, in 1999, Camilleri has built a practice deeply rooted in the dialogue between art and design.
Drawing inspiration from architecture, heritage, culture, and ancient artifacts, he brings these influences together with a modern sensibility and a passion for animation.
His artistic journey began in Malta, where he studied art history and spatial design, before moving to the UK to pursue Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martins, one of the world’s most prestigious art and design institutions.
The Wallpaper* feature places Camilleri’s work within the new Pantone Celadon Suite at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, designed by Uchronia in collaboration with Pantone.
The suite is described as an immersive, celadon-hued space celebrating British craftsmanship, featuring handcrafted furniture, bespoke artwork, and evocative textures.
Camilleri’s inclusion in this international showcase marks another proud moment for Maltese creativity on the global stage, reinforcing his reputation as a rising voice in contemporary design and sculpture.
