One of Malta's most popular food celebrations is set to return this Friday, 31st July, as Maltese Sausage Day takes place at the Public Abattoir in Marsa from 8pm onwards.

The annual event has become a favourite among food enthusiasts, celebrating the traditional Maltese sausage, a staple of local cuisine that has been enjoyed for generations.

Made with pork and seasoned with salt, black pepper, coriander seeds, parsley and garlic, the sausage is a familiar feature of Maltese kitchens and is often served grilled, in fresh crusty bread or as part of a hearty meal.

Visitors can look forward to sampling a wide range of dishes inspired by the iconic sausage, from classic recipes to more inventive creations.

Local agro-food producers will also be present, offering a selection of Maltese products and highlighting the quality and variety of the island's agri-food sector.

Among this year's highlights will be the chance to try the unique Maltese sausage-infused chocolates created by Tiziano Cassar and Nigret, offering an unusual twist on the traditional delicacy.

The evening will also feature live music, family entertainment and a dedicated children's area, creating a lively atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

Whether attending for the first time or returning once again, Maltese Sausage Day promises an enjoyable evening celebrating one of Malta's best-loved culinary traditions.
