Chloe, Xandru, Daniela, Christine, Marvic, and Antoni were chosen from Malta and Gozo to go and experience first hand the difference that donations from our islands make in this area of Africa, thanks to a project led by Mario and Anna Capello, that has changed thousands of lives in Ghana.

The Maltese Hospital in Ghana celebrated 10 years since opening this year.

Throughout this decade, the Maltese couple have also opened a Maltese School in the area, as well as a ‘Mother and Child’ building adjacent to the hospital, to deal directly with pregnant women, and children who need medical care.

The recent Maltese group visiting the Maltese projects join a long list of Maltese politicians and personalities who have visited in the past 4 years,

This list includes people like our very own Keane Cutajar and Amy Borg, who were part of the first group to ever experience these projects in Kumasi, Ghana.

Amongst the list of people who visited are President Emeritus Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and George Vella, as well as Foreign Minister Ian Borg.

The list also includes MPs Cressida Galea and Eve Borg Bonello. Notable personalities who experienced the work done by the Maltese in Africa, are Kevin Paul, Francesca Attard, Megan May, Dorianne Mamo, Daniel Umanah, Victor Abela, Steven Levi Vella, Jurgen Manicolo, and many more.

The 6 Maltese personalities to last visit the Maltese hospital in Ghana did so as part of a collaboration between HopeXchange and Net Television, where a reality TV experience has been filmed and is currently airing on Net Television every Tuesday evening under the name of ‘Akoma’, produced by Gail Mallia.

The HopeXchange team have so far held three fundraising telethons in Malta, fundraising marathons, and more, and are currently planning to hold more of these events this year, as they plan to continue helping more people in Africa.
