Maltese Performer At Prestigious Royal Albert Hall For BBC Proms 2026

Fresh from graduating from Bird Conservatoire, Maltese musical theatre performer Marianna Micallef has reached an important early milestone in her career by performing at the Royal Albert Hall as part of BBC Proms 2026.

She appeared during Alan Menken's Music for Disney, one of this year's Proms concerts celebrating the acclaimed Disney composer.

The performance followed a busy summer in which Micallef began building her professional experience.

In August, she served as dance captain for the National Youth Music Theatre's production of West Side Story at the Birmingham Hippodrome, gaining valuable experience as part of a professional creative team.

Last Monday, she returned to the stage with the National Youth Music Theatre at the BBC Proms, performing alongside Stewart Clarke, Ben Forster, Lucie Jones, Sam Oladeinde, Celinde Schoenmaker and Marisha Wallace, accompanied by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Sarah Hicks.

Reflecting on the experience, Micallef said: "This appearance represents a first step, not a final destination. I look forward to more training and a clear commitment to growth, with the UK musical theatre industry a fixed target."
