Maltese First Responders Take On Annual Stair Climb Challenge In Remembrance Of 9/11 Tragedy

The Civil Protection Department are taking on their annual ‘Stair Climb Challenge’ this morning to commemorate the lives lost in 9/11.
This tribute consists of members of Malta’s protective forces climbing the stairs in Barrakka in full gear, mimicking the kind of work first responders carried out at the World Trade Center on the 11th of September 2001.
“This event is held in remembrance of the fallen first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice during the attacks of 11 September 2001,” explained CPD on their social media.
“Their courage, dedication and sacrifice will never be forgotten,” they concluded.
The public is invited to visit the tribute and join Malta’s Protective Forces today until 12:00pm.
