Maltese Diver Spots Giant Tun Snail Laying Her Eggs

Environment
In a video shared to social media by @malta_ginger_mermaid, a female Giant Tun snail (Tonna galea) was spotted laying the last few eggs remaining while in local waters.
‘I spent about an hour at the surface, watching her do her magic. Just a few metres away, another ribbon lay on the sand’ wrote Gloria.
‘Moments like these remind us how important it is to care for the ocean. While we are stressing away on land, new life is quietly being created beneath the waves.’
The snail releases a long jelly like ribbon filled with 4000 to 8000 eggs. This is a protected species, explained Gloria, as their numbers are in serious decline.
