The Malta Records this morning met with a Maltese author to present a new local record.

The record was for the longest Maltese series of novels, with a total of 12 books known as ‘Il-Kalendarju.’

The record was established by author Chris Azzoaprdi.

‘A special thank you to Wise Owl Publications for publishing every one of Chris Azzopardi's books’, said Malta Records.

‘Thanks also to the Żejtun Local Council, which awarded the author first prize in a literary competition for an excerpt from the fifth book in this series. Another word of thanks goes to the National Book Council (KNK) and Malta Libraries for all their support in ensuring that books by Maltese authors are available in libraries.

Thank you to the National Literacy Agency for generously sponsoring five of this author's children's books and distributing them to schools.’

‘Finally, thank you to Ogygia Folk Group, which week after week provides wonderful opportunities, including to this author, to continue embracing and appreciating Maltese traditions.’
