Malta With Highest Employment Rate For 20 To 64 Year Olds In EU 2025

In 2025, Malta topped the charts in employment rate for 20 to 64 year olds, with more than 75% of the EU's people in this category employed throughout last year.
76.1% of the EU's 20 to 64 year olds were employed, with Malta employing the highest percentage of people with 83.6%. the Netherlands and Czechia follow in second and third place, with 83.4% and 82.9%, respectively.
Italy, Romania, and Greece employed the least amount of people in this category. The Italian population was the least employed with 67.7%, while Romania and Greece follow with 69% and 71%, respectively.
There were more men than women employed, as the employment rate for men in the EU was 80.9%, while women had an employment rate of 71.3%.
