Malta With 3rd Lowest Median Age In EU at 40 Years Old

According to Eurostat, Malta had the lowest median age at 40.0 in 2025, below the EU median age of 44.9 years.
The median age for men was 38.9 years, whereas for women it was 41.5 years.
Malta follows Ireland, which has the lowest median age at 39.6 years, and Luxembourg at 39.8 years.
Meanwhile, Italy registered the highest median age at 49.1 years, followed by Bulgaria and Portugal, both at 47.3 years.
