Malta With 3rd Highest Amount of Employees Working Weekends

According to data shared by Eurostat, Malta had the third highest share of employees working weekends in 2025.
Last year, 29.2% of Maltese employees aged 15 to 64 usually worked during weekends, following Greece and Cyprus at 31.5% and 31.3% respectively.
The EU average was set at 18.5%, placing Malta’s rate over ten percentage points higher.
The lowest rate was registered in Lithuania at 3.0%, followed by Poland and Hungary at 4.2% and 6.2%.
