Malta registered the second highest share of energy used for space cooling in households in 2024.
15% of the final consumption in Maltese households went to cool the space, following only Cyprus which registered 16%.
Considering it’s a Mediterranean island with very hot summers, it tracks very well!
Greece followed in third at 7.4%, followed by Spain and Italy at 2.5% and 2.3%.
