Malta With 2nd Highest Employment Rate In EU For 20 To 29 Year Olds

According to data issued by Eurostat, Malta registered the second highest employment rate in the European Union for young people aged 20 to 29 years old.
Malta registered an 82.1% employment rate for the cohort, far above the EU average of 65.5%. The highest was registered in the Netherlands at 84%, just two percentage points higher than Malta.
Germany followed in third place at 77%, whereas neighbouring Italy registered the lowest rate at 47.6%.
Romania and Bulgaria followed at 52% and 52.7% respectively.
