Malta Wins Best Cave Diving Destination In The World

The Maltese Islands have just scored another major international win, this time beneath the waves.

Scuba Diving Magazine, the official voice of the PADI Diving Club in the USA, has crowned Malta the Best Cave, Cavern and Grotto Diving Destination in the World in its 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Malta also got second place for both Wreck Diving and Shore Diving, while earning praise across five more categories, solidifying Malta and Gozo as true global diving heavyweights.

Representing Malta at the DEMA Show in Orlando, Emily Hartwig of the Bradford Group proudly accepted the awards on behalf of the Malta Tourism Authority.

With more than 30 PADI Dive Centres across the islands, this recognition adds extra sparkle to a sector already bubbling with growth.

MTA Chairman Dr Charles Mangion celebrated the achievement, highlighting Malta’s commitment to quality, sustainability and world-class underwater experiences.
