Malta To Host WTTC Global Summit In October

Malta will host the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit from the 7th to the 9th of October 2026, bringing more than 200 global tourism leaders, investors, policymakers and industry experts to the island.
The international event is being described as an important opportunity to strengthen Malta’s position on the global tourism stage, while creating new opportunities for collaboration, business and investment.
Tourism Minister Jo Etienne Abela said Malta is not hosting the summit simply to showcase what the country has to offer, but to demonstrate where it wants to go in the future.
He said the country’s ambition is to develop a higher-quality, sustainable and innovative tourism sector that creates greater economic value while improving the visitor experience.
WTTC President and CEO Gloria Guevara said Malta would be “at the centre” of the global conversation on travel and tourism, praising the Government and Malta Tourism Authority for supporting the event.
MTA CEO Carlo Micallef said the summit would allow Malta to present itself not only as the destination it is today, but as the destination it is building for the future, with a focus on quality, heritage, identity and long-term value.
