Malta To Host World Travel & Tourism Global Summit 2026

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has confirmed that its 26th Global Summit will take place in Valletta in 2026.
The announcement was made at the closing ceremony of this year’s summit in Rome and marks the largest tourism gathering ever to be held in Malta.
The three-day event, hosted by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Tourism together with the Malta Tourism Authority, will bring together ministers, industry leaders, destination managers and international media.
It aims to create partnerships, drive sustainable investment and highlight the critical role of travel and tourism in the global economy.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg described the summit as a proud moment for Malta.
He said it would provide a unique opportunity to showcase the country’s heritage and innovation while promoting sustainability, community engagement and resilience within the global sector.
WTTC Interim Chief Executive Gloria Guevara said Malta would offer an extraordinary backdrop for international discussions.
She noted that travel and tourism is projected to contribute €3.6 billion to Malta’s economy this year and to support one in five jobs nationwide.
Carlo Micallef, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, added that the summit would strengthen Malta’s reputation as a centre of excellence in tourism and deliver long-lasting benefits.
