Malta To Host Junior Eurovision For The Third Time

Malta’s Eurovision celebrations continued this week as the country was confirmed as host of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, just one day after Aidan qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final with his song ‘Bella.’
The announcement was made ahead of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest final.
The Junior Eurovision competition will return to Malta for the first time since 2016, with the event set to take place on the 24th of October 2026 at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.
Organisers said the venue will be transformed into a “Eurovision Festa Village”, blending Malta’s traditional festa culture with large-scale entertainment and international music celebration.
Malta remains one of the most successful countries in Junior Eurovision history, having won the contest twice through Gaia Cauchi in 2013 and Destiny in 2015.
PBS Chief Executive Keith Chetcuti described Malta as “Eurovision’s biggest fan and ally”, while organisers said the event will showcase Malta’s culture, creativity and hospitality to audiences across Europe.
