MALTA SET FOR FINAL CLASH WITH ALBANIA IN FIBA SMALL COUNTRIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Malta’s women’s national basketball team has secured a place in the final of the FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries after an impressive run of performances throughout the tournament.
The team produced a strong display to reach the decisive stage, maintaining their momentum as they advance to the final.
The final will take place on 28 June in Peja, Kosovo, with Malta competing under the leadership of head coach Charlie Bonnici.
The squad features a blend of experienced players and emerging talent, with several athletes set to make their senior international debuts. Veteran Josephine Diaby will lead the team as captain in the final.
The competition brought together six teams split into two groups of three. Malta competed in Group A alongside Albania and Georgia, while Group B included Kosovo, Armenia, and Andorra.
Malta will now face Albania in the final, aiming to secure the championship title and bring glory back home.
