MALTA’S PRESIDENT VISITS PAPAL BASILICA OF SANTA MARIA MAGGIORE DURING VATICAN TRIP

During her official visit to the Vatican, H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, made her first engagement a visit to the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.

Accompanied by Moira Attard, Secretary of the Presidency, and the rest of her delegation, President Spiteri Debono spent a moment of reflection in front of the tomb of Pope Francis. The visit marks an important start to the President’s official engagements in the Vatican, highlighting Malta’s continued ties with the Holy See.
