Malta’s Mediterranean College Of Sport Offers Unique Sport-Focused Primary School

The Mediterranean College of Sport (MCS) has officially inaugurated its first primary school, offering young students daily sports activities alongside their regular classes.

Launched in 2025, the primary school programme combines classroom learning with daily 45-minute sports sessions, including gymnastics, swimming and athletics. These help children to develop their physical and social skills, while encouraging them to keep active.

MCS opened in 2024 for Secondary, and later Sixth Form students, and now has over 360 students in their classrooms, with 93 primary students.

Minister for Education and Sport Byron Camilleri attended the inauguration, saying that children learn important values through sport, including discipline, respect, teamwork and perseverance.
