Malta’s Foreign Affairs Ministry Pledges Support for Citizens in Middle East and Gulf

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Tourism has expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly involving Iran and the United States, as well as wider developments in the Gulf region.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Ian Borg, emphasised the importance of restraint, urging all parties to protect civilians, respect international law, and allow dialogue to prevail. He also reassured the public that Malta’s consular teams, both at home and in embassies across the region, are fully engaged and providing assistance to Maltese citizens who may be affected by the ongoing tensions.

In light of the situation, the Ministry has advised all Maltese nationals currently in the Middle East and Gulf region to contact the nearest Maltese Embassy if they require support. Citizens may also reach out directly to the Ministry via telephone at +356 2204 0000 for urgent assistance.
