Malta’s Employee Support Programme Has Held 5,500 Support Sessions Since 2025

The Employee Support Programme (ESP) held more than 5,500 support sessions for Public Administration employees during 2025 and 2026, as the Government continues to invest in workers’ mental and emotional well-being.
The ESP offers free and confidential counselling, psychological support, assistance in returning to work, and help in traumatic situations.
Since its establishment, the programme has supported 4,188 people. A total of 464 people accessed the service in 2025, while another 341 did so by October 2026.
Prime Minister Robert Abela announced the figures during a visit to the premises, saying that investment in public service workers must go beyond wages and working conditions.
“Our workers should know that when they face difficulties, both at work and in their personal lives, there are those who are willing to listen.”
The programme works alongside the People 360 initiative, which promotes a more positive and inclusive workplace through prevention, training and employee-focused practices.
