Malta's Bishops Welcome National leaders For Christmas Gathering At The Archbiship's Palace

Last night, the bishops of Malta welcomed H.E Myriad Spiteri Debono along with other national leaders into the Archbishop’s Palace in Valletta.

Prime Minister Robert Abela and his wife Lydia Abela, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta Anġlu Farrugia, and Opposition leader Alex Borg with partner Sarah Bajada were also in attendance, along with other important members of parliament and state representatives.

Apart from extending Christmas wishes, Charles Scicluna, the Archbishop of Malta, thanked them all for the work they do for the country.

He proceeded to extend his thoughts to victims of war and emphasised the need for everyone to have a roof over their head, something which is essential for a person’s dignity.

Archbishop Scicluna reminded the importance of truth in politics, even in cases were no ethical code is in place.

He concluded by emphasising the importance of “dedicating time for each other with our own personal presence,” which is the best present we can give each other this Christmas season.
