Minister Byron Camilleri announced that Malta registered the lowest crime rate in its history in 2025, with the exception being the COVID year.
Camilleri announced that this positive news forms part of the release of the Crime Report, which will reveal more positive news upon its release.
This makes Malta the safest country in the Mediterranean and one of the twelve most secure countries in the world.
More information is set to be released with the crime report, with the Minister commending the efforts by disciplined forces in keeping the country safe, especially during instances such as Storm Harry.
