Malta Red Cross Issues Warning Against Unauthorised Donation Requests

The Malta Red Cross has issued an urgent warning following reports of unauthorised solicitations for donations claiming to be on behalf of the organisation. Officials have stressed that these collections have not been authorised or endorsed by the Red Cross.

Malta Red Cross said, “Any official fundraising is always clearly communicated through our official channels.”

Members of the public are advised that if approached for a donation, they should either, Request to see official identification from anyone soliciting funds, Verify all fundraising activities through the Malta Red Cross website at www.redcross.org.mt, and report any suspected fraudulent activity to shop management or local authorities without engaging further.

The Malta Red Cross thanked the public for their vigilance, noting that these precautions help safeguard the integrity of humanitarian work and ensure that donations reach those genuinely in need.
