Malta Ranks Second In Code Week 2025

Malta returns to EU Code Week 2026, after ranking second in the 1,100 activities organised last year.

EU Code Week 2026 will take place from 10 to 25 October, and encourages people of all ages to explore programming, digital creativity and technology through practical activities and learning experiences.

As part of this year’s programme, 10 Maltese schools have received the EU Code Week School Label for 2026 to 2028, recognising their long-term commitment to programming and digital literacy in education.

The Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) is also launching the second edition of the Funovation Competition, which recognises schools for innovative digital learning activities and participation in EU Code Week. The initiatives form part of Malta’s wider efforts to strengthen digital skills and prepare young people for education and employment in an increasingly technology-focused economy.
