Malta has secured a place in the global top 10 list of restaurants accessible only by boat, according to rankings released by BoatBooker.

The list highlights unique dining destinations that can only be reached by sea. To qualify, restaurants must be located on islands without a public airport, meaning visitors must arrive by boat or ferry.

Malta ranked 10th worldwide, with Qbajjar Restaurant earning the spot on behalf of the Maltese Islands.

The restaurant sits along Gozo’s northern coast and is known for its seaside setting overlooking Qbajjar Bay.

Malta shares the prestigious list with destinations across the globe, including Greece, Croatia, Italy, Indonesia, the Maldives, the Philippines, the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Chile, all of which feature remote dining spots that require a sea journey to reach.

To be included in the ranking, each restaurant needed at least 100 verified Google reviews and a minimum rating of 4.5 stars, ensuring only highly rated establishments made the final selection.

Beyond the main ranking, several other Maltese restaurants also received recognition in additional categories. The Boathouse Restaurant and One80 Kitchen were highlighted in the “Dock & Dine” category, which celebrates restaurants that have become benchmarks for hospitality tailored specifically to the boating community.

Meanwhile, Ta’ Karolina and Terrazzo were recognised as “Coastal Icons for Every Adventurer,” praised for their scenic waterfront locations and appeal to travellers exploring the islands by sea.
