Malta Ranger Unit Report Illegal Fishing Inside Ċirkewwa Marine Park

Whilst addressing another report near Għajn Tuta, the Malta Ranger Unit spotted a vessel they had reportedly seen inside the Ċirkewwa Marine Park before.
The rangers kept an eye on it, and when realising that the vessel was heading towards the Conservation Area to fish, they made their way to the site.
The rangers called Transport Malta, who ‘unfortunately didn’t have access to the CCTV on site’ due to ‘ongoing maintenance.’
The rangers, ‘thanks to their equipment and knowledge, managed to secure evidence enough for the authorities to act on the matter. A report has been filed and our Unit will follow up on the matter to confirm that it has been handled.’
