In a press release, the Nationalist Party referred to statistics released by the National Statistics Office, stating that between October and December 2025, property in Malta increased by 6.1% compared to the same period in the previous year.

Apartments reportedly saw the highest increase of 6.2%, with maisonettes also rising 5.3%.

The average price increase in the rest of the European Union was 5.5%, meaning prices in Malta are rising faster than most of Europe, according to NSO.

In their press release, the Nationalist Party stated that this increase in property prices must be considered alongside the rising cost of living.

They explained that wages in Malta remain low while the prices of essential goods continue to rise, including rent, which many people are forced to pay because they cannot afford to buy property.
