Malta Police Mourns Passing of Dedicated Unit Member K9 Thor

The Malta Police Force has paid tribute to Police Dog Thor, a long-serving member of its K9 Section who passed away last week.

Born in 2015, Thor joined the police K9 Unit in 2017, where he received specialised training in protection duties, suspect searches and human-scent detection. During his years of service, he played a key role in supporting police operations and enhancing public safety.

For the past six years, Thor lived with his handler, forming a close bond that extended beyond professional duties. The Police Force described the relationship as one built on trust, discipline and companionship, highlighting the unique connection that develops between a police dog and their handler.

In a post shared on social media, the Malta Police Force reflected on Thor’s dedication and loyalty, noting that he was not only a reliable working partner but also a valued member of the police force.

The Force concluded its tribute by marking Thor’s final farewell, describing it as a moment of gratitude for his years of service and commitment.
