Malta Police Force Reports 22 Arrests and 3 Sentences Last Week

The Malta Police Force has reported a busy week, with numerous arrests, arraignments, and sentences across a range of offences.

In a Facebook post, the police detailed that two men were arrested and arraigned after being found in possession of 40 sachets of heroin and cocaine in Ħamrun.

Another man faced charges of aggravated possession of cocaine and heroin, along with money laundering, while a further man was arraigned for cocaine possession and breaching bail conditions.

Other notable cases included a man arrested for assaulting police officers while intoxicated in Paceville, and a woman arraigned for insulting and threatening a police officer and security staff at the Paola Health Centre. Two men and a minor were arrested over a series of motorcycle thefts, while two women were charged with stealing items from a hotel room in St Julian’s.

Several traffic-related offences were also addressed, with men arraigned for driving without a valid licence or insurance, breaching lawful orders, or possession of stolen items. Eight men faced charges linked to domestic violence, and a teenager was arrested for attempting to travel using someone else’s passport.

The Malta Police Force concluded, “Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all our officers for their exemplary dedication, and we extend our gratitude to the general public for their continued cooperation.”
