Malta Officially Joines Eurimages

Malta has officially joined Eurimages, the Council of Europe’s cultural support fund for films, marking a significant milestone for the country’s audiovisual sector and its integration into the European cultural landscape.
Minister for Culture, the Arts, and Local Government Owen Bonnici described the move as a strategic step for Malta’s film industry.
“The joining of Malta in Eurimages reflects the continuous commitment to strengthen cultural and creative sectors thanks to transparent structures based on merit. This step opens new opportunities for local film producers to collaborate on an international level and compete on a European level,” stated minister Bonnici.
The membership followed a comprehensive evaluation coordinated by the Malta Council for the Arts, during which a Maltese delegation formally presented the country’s accession report in Strasbourg.
Luke Dalli, Executive Chairman of the Malta Council for the Arts, added that “Malta’s addition to Eurimages is an important and historical step for our domestic cinematography industry.”
As a member, Maltese producers can now access Eurimages’ co-production financing, strengthening both the sustainability and international reach of Malta’s audiovisual sector.
