Malta International Food Festival Returns For 10th Edition
The Malta International Food Festival will return to the Floriana Granaries between Wednesday 5 and Sunday 9 August 2026, with the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food once again supporting the annual event.
This year's edition marks the festival's 10th anniversary and will feature an expanded programme celebrating food, culture and entertainment from around the world.
Over the past decade, the festival has grown into one of Malta's largest gastronomic events, attracting thousands of Maltese, Gozitans, foreign residents and tourists each year.
Visitors attending the five-day festival will have the opportunity to sample more than 1,000 dishes representing 42 international cuisines.
Alongside flavours from across the globe, the event will also place a strong focus on Maltese cuisine and locally produced food, highlighting the quality, authenticity and value of products made in Malta.
More than 100 exhibitors, including restaurants, producers, importers and leading food and beverage brands, are expected to participate, providing a platform to showcase local businesses and products.
Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Anton Refalo said the festival offers an important opportunity to place Maltese products at the centre of the country's gastronomic experience.
He said the Malta International Food Festival not only celebrates cuisines from around the world but also gives visibility to local products.
Refalo added that the country's farmers, livestock breeders, fishermen and producers work hard to provide high-quality products, and initiatives such as this help create opportunities for them to gain greater recognition while strengthening Malta's agri-food sector and promoting the country as a leading gastronomic destination.
Minister for Equality and Civil Rights Rosianne Cutajar congratulated the organisers on reaching the festival's 10th edition and welcomed the continued involvement of the Ministry through the Directorate for Human Rights. The Directorate has once again brought together several international communities living in Malta to participate in the event.
Cutajar said that sharing food creates opportunities for people from different backgrounds to meet and build genuine connections. She added that, in a diverse and multicultural society such as Malta's, events like this help break down prejudice and encourage mutual respect and understanding.
Beyond its culinary offering, the festival will include daily live music performances, cultural shows, family activities, a dedicated children's area and a variety of other attractions, making it one of the highlights of Malta's summer events calendar.
The festival will be open every day from 6:00 pm until midnight at the Floriana Granaries.
Organisers said the event will continue to promote Maltese products while creating opportunities for local producers, operators and businesses, and offering visitors the chance to experience culinary traditions from around the world in a single location.
