Malta International Airport Named One of the Cleanest Airports

Malta International Airport has ranked among Europe’s top airports in the 5 to 15 million passenger category for the eighth consecutive year, earning special recognition for its high sanitation standards.
The results were announced by Airports Council International (ACI) as part of its Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey programme.
The rankings are based on passenger feedback collected throughout 2025 from departing travellers at 383 airports worldwide, around a third of which are located in Europe.
Malta International Airport outperformed the European average across all 31 satisfaction indicators, which assess every stage of the passenger journey, from signage and facilities to staff service.
Security screening received the airport’s highest score of 4.60, with satisfaction levels rising compared to 2024 following investment in advanced scanning technology.
Overall passenger satisfaction reached 4.41 out of five, exceeding the European average of 4.12.
The airport also secured the Cleanliness Award for the first time, achieving a sanitation score of 4.39, well above the European average of 4.05.
This performance was maintained even during peak season, when an average of 35,400 passengers passed through the terminal daily, highlighting the airport’s continued focus on service excellence.
