Malta Food Agency Announces Festa Ikel Malti 2025: A Celebration of Maltese Cuisine and Culture

The Malta Food Agency is pleased to announce the upcoming edition of Festa Ikel Malti (Maltese Food Festival), taking place on Sunday, 12 October 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Pitkalija, Ta’ Qali. The festival will once again serve as a national platform to showcase Malta’s rich culinary heritage, cultural traditions, and community spirit.

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s edition, which attracted thousands of visitors, Festa Ikel Malti 2025 is set to be an even larger and more dynamic celebration. The festival highlights the unique flavours of the island while providing an inclusive space where tradition, innovation, and community converge.

At the centre of the event are Maltese food producers, who will present a diverse selection of both traditional and contemporary products. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover authentic tastes, engage directly with producers, and gain deeper insight into Malta’s food heritage. Festa Ikel Malti will also cater to attendees with specific dietary requirements, offering vegan, vegetarian, and dairy-free options, as well as a fully gluten-free kitchen with dishes suitable for those with gluten and lactose intolerances.

The programme will also feature live cooking demonstrations by leading chefs, designed to showcase the creativity and excellence of Maltese cuisine. These sessions will underline the versatility of local ingredients and the culinary expertise that defines Malta’s gastronomic identity.

In addition to its culinary attractions, Festa Ikel Malti will host a full day of entertainment for all the family. Dedicated activities for children will also ensure younger visitors are fully engaged, including a jumping castle, children’s train, sand art workshops, the fun bus, and more.
