Malta, Don't Forget! Clocks Go Back One Hour Tonight

Good news for anyone who loves a little extra sleep! Malta's clocks will officially go back by one hour in the early hours of Sunday, 25th October 2026, marking the end of summer time.
At exactly 3:00am, clocks will move backwards to 2:00am, meaning we'll all gain an extra hour overnight.
But while an extra hour in bed sounds like a win, there's a catch: the sun will start setting earlier in the evening.
From Sunday, Malta will officially return to Central European Time (CET), with sunrise and sunset occurring approximately one hour earlier on the clock.
In fact, sunset in Valletta is expected at around 5:15pm on Sunday, compared to approximately 6:16pm on Saturday.
The good news? Mornings will become brighter earlier, making those early starts a little easier.
Will Malta Eventually Stop Changing The Clocks?
The European Parliament voted in favour of ending seasonal clock changes back in 2019, but the proposal has yet to be finalised.
For now, Malta and the rest of the EU will continue switching between summer and winter time twice a year.
The next clock change is scheduled for Sunday, 28th March 2027, when clocks will move forward again.
Until then, enjoy that extra hour of sleep this weekend!
Are you team summer time or winter time?
