The offices of the Malta Community Chest Fund at the Presidential Palace in Valletta have been officially inaugurated following a three year renovation project.

The Malta Community Chest Fund will once again be offering its services and direct contact with patients and individuals in need from offices located within the President’s Palace in Valletta.

The refurbishment has modernised the premises and equipped them with facilities that ensure comfort and the necessary privacy for those seeking assistance. During the renovation works, the Fund operated from a nearby building generously provided free of charge by the Archdiocese of Malta.

The offices, inaugurated on Tuesday evening, are accessed from Archbishop Street and are located in the section of the Palace between Merchant Street and Republic Street.

From these premises, patients and families will be able to meet directly with Malta Community Chest Fund officials, submit applications for assistance and receive professional support, including from social workers.

The inauguration was led by the President of Malta, Myriam Spiteri Debono, together with Prime Minister Robert Abela, Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna and Nationalist Party deputy leader Alex Perici Calascione, representing Opposition leader Alex Borg.

President Spiteri Debono described the offices as the first place people turn to when facing serious illness or social challenges. She thanked the Fund’s leadership, staff and volunteers for their commitment.

Prime Minister Abela highlighted the Fund’s role in supporting people during difficult times, alongside the State, and praised the spirit of solidarity shown by the Maltese people.

Archbishop Scicluna spoke of the importance of compassion and unity, while Mr Perici Calascione described the offices as a space of hope and dignity. The offices will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am until noon.
