She said that Malta’s success lies in a coherent and multidisciplinary strategy that responds to the evolving expectations of modern travellers while generating economic value without compromising the islands’ identity.

MTA Chief Executive Officer Carlo Micallef added that the award highlights the strength of Malta’s relationship with Italy and the close collaboration with industry stakeholders.

He underlined the authority’s focus on quality, sustainability and year round tourism, ensuring meaningful experiences while protecting what makes Malta and Gozo distinctive.

The jury praised Malta’s excellence in marketing, promotion and international tourism development. The event, hosted by Gabriella Carlucci and broadcast on Rai 2 on 16 December, confirmed the high standard of work carried out by VisitMalta’s Italian office.

The award crowns a year dedicated to promoting Malta and Gozo as premium, inclusive and sustainable destinations for all seasons, with initiatives such as the acclaimed Nessuna donna è un’isola project placing culture, wellbeing and Gozo’s unique character at the forefront.
