Major Social Housing Regeneration Project Underway In Paola

Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation, Roderick Galdes, has visited the social housing estate in Paola (Raħal Ġdid), where extensive works are currently being carried out on a number of residential blocks.

This project, being implemented by the Housing Authority in collaboration with Housing Projects Solutions Limited, involves restoration and upgrading works on the facades, entrances, common areas, and roofs of ten blocks comprising a total of 67 apartments.

The investment amounts to over €420,000, benefiting the 67 families residing in these buildings.

The aim of this initiative is not only to carry out structural and maintenance interventions but also to improve the aesthetic environment of the area, ensuring that residents enjoy a safer and higher-quality living space.

During his visit, Minister Galdes emphasised that such regeneration projects form part of a continuous national effort being undertaken by the Government across various localities.

Minister Galdes concluded, “The quality of life of residents is a priority for us. Through these regeneration projects, we are not only giving a new look to social housing areas but also fostering a sense of pride and respect towards the environment in which these families live. This is an investment in people’s dignity.”
