Macedonian Man Deported After Attempting To Breach Schengen Ban

A 36-year-old Macedonian national has been forcibly removed from Malta after attempting to re-enter the Schengen Area despite being subject to a long-term entry ban.
According to the Immigration Police, the man had been issued with a Removal and Return Order in February after being found guilty of several offences, including domestic violence and misuse of a mobile phone.
He was subsequently deported from Malta and banned from entering the Schengen Zone for a number of years.
Authorities said the man attempted to return to Malta in April but was stopped by Border Control and Immigration Police officers at the airport due to the active ban.
He was later held at a detention centre while arrangements were made for his forced return.
Two North African men were also deported after their asylum requests and appeals were rejected. Both had entered Malta irregularly by sea in recent years.
