Lydia Abela Presents €10,600 Donation To Richmond Foundation

Lydia Abela, wife of the Prime Minister, presented a donation of €10,600 to the Richmond Foundation, raised during the first edition of the Nitkellem Festival. The funds will help the non-governmental organisation continue providing support, therapy, and training in the field of mental health.
The sum was collected from ticket sales for the original Kelma Kelma Nota Nota concert, as well as from public donations made during the day’s activities, which were organised by Lydia Abela in collaboration with the Government of Malta on 10 October.
Lydia Abela urged, ‘Help is out there. Speak up and open your heart. You will find someone to listen and support you.’

Daniela Calleja Bitar, Chief Executive of the Richmond Foundation, praised Lydia Abela’s work, noting that it not only raises funds for voluntary organisations in this sector but also ensures mental health remains a national priority.
During World Mental Health Day, The Nitkellem Festival brought together thousands of Maltese and Gozitans for a day of open discussions, performances, and activities focused on mental health awareness.
Lydia Abela emphasised that work in the mental health sector requires ongoing effort to ensure children grow up in less stressful environments and to equip them with the mental tools to face life’s challenges.
