Lydia Abela Awards Inspirational Women For Women’s Day

Lydia Abela held the 2026 edition of MARA, awarding the talents and works of remarkable Maltese women in celebration of International Women’s Day.

Founded by Lydia Abela, the Mara Awards are now in their third year, and are held to recognise the dedication, talent, and impact of women who have made significant contributions to their communities and professions, highlighting both emerging talents and long-serving leaders across various fields.

This year saw more women claim titles in their respective fields, whether the the empowerment through arts and culture, innovation in science and technology, leadership in business, environmental activism, and more.
