Yesterday, Lydia Abela, attended a charity event held in honour of twin brothers Len and Jacob, who live with Zellweger Disease.

This is a rare degenerative condition that progressively affects their speech and movement.

The event aimed to raise both awareness and funds to help make the family’s home more accessible for the boys.

At the centre of the fundraising efforts was Brian, the twins’ father, who undertook an extraordinary barefoot swim-run challenge across Malta, Comino, and Gozo.

Accompanied by athletes Karl and Natalie, Brian began in Mosta, ran to Marfa and swam to Comino.

The journey continued on foot across Comino, followed by another swim to Ħondoq, and concluded with a final run to Gozo’s Ta’ Pinu.

Following her attendance at the event, the Prime Minister’s wife took to social media to express her admiration for Len and Jacob.

She proceeded to express how impressed she is with the boys’ parents, Brian and Alison, and anyone else who participated in this event.

Lydia finally urged followers to vote to Jacob and Len’s cause, in the hopes of eventually finding a cure for such a rare condition.

The family also took to social media following the event, thanking everyone who participated in some form or another.
