London has once again been named the World’s Best City for 2026, surpassing major global rivals including New York, Paris, Barcelona, Rome, and Berlin. Its continued dominance reflects a unique combination of history, culture, prestige, and livability, making it one of the most sought-after destinations for tourists and residents alike. Despite strong competition from other iconic cities, London outshone its rivals, reaffirming its status as a global leader in urban tourism and lifestyle.

The announcement comes from Resonance Consultancy, a leading advisor on place branding and urban strategy, which released its 11th annual World’s Best Cities report, ranking the top 100 cities shaping the world’s future. London retained its top position for the 11th consecutive year, excelling across all key pillars of Livability, Lovability, and Prosperity. New York secured second place thanks to its thriving cultural economy, major infrastructure projects, and enduring global appeal, while Paris ranked third, combining historical significance with a forward-looking approach to urban development.

Laura Citron OBE, CEO of London & Partners, praised the city’s constant reinvention, noting that a 10-year growth plan, record-breaking London-based scaleups, rising visitor numbers, and nearly £10 billion in planned investment in the experience economy have all contributed to London’s success. She emphasised that the city’s diversity, innovation, and talent will continue to drive its transformation into an even fairer, greener, and more prosperous global hub over the next decade.
